Jamboree, BBQ or Get Together

I met another Defender owner yesterday, Scott-Green '97 D-90. I told him about this group that I have been trying to put together and I suggested maybe we should have a get together. His thought was to have jamboree or a BBQ on the beach. I know it is getting late in the season, but I thought I would put it out there to see what kind of interest we can drum up.

Comments, suggestions and ideas are encouraged.

Thanks for starting things off!

It really is amazing how many of these vehicles are on island.

I think including Series owners is good idea. Tell your Series friends about the site and hopefully with enough members we can get some good ideas flowing about maintenance too.

If you see a guy in a white defender placing paper tags on windows, honk...that is me!

Welcome to DOG on ACK.

DOG on ACK was inspired by a conversation I had at Great Point. One Sunday, while reading the newspaper next to my 1997 Defender 90, a gentleman approached me and asked,"what is the deal with all the Defender's on Nantucket?" I was a little surprised, because after a while it has just seemed normal to see so many Defenders. The man told me that he has been trying to buy a Defender for a while and had searched the whole east coast looking for the perfect vehicle, but the lack of choices left him frustrated.

When he decided to vacation on Nantucket he had no idea that this was a Defender haven and heaven.

This lead me to think that Nantucket and Defenders are a natural fit and it would be great to meet some other owners. I hope this site serves as the central meeting place for our group. I invite you to make comments, suggestions and share your fondess for our vehicle of choice.
